Welcome to the official website for Tracking Fire, the documentary that chronicles the unsolved case of arson at The Upstairs Lounge, a gay men’s bar, which resulted in the murder of thirty-two people.
My focus is to tell the story of what happened, honor the victims, including the mother who died with her two sons, the survivors, their friends and family. It is also my intention to present a way for healing to replace the pain of tragedy and to offer a healthy resolution for personal and social conflict.
Far too often, people still continue to struggle with their sexual identity. Some take their conflict out on themselves or even on other people. I hope to contribute towards creating a better awareness for the general public and LGBT communities so, that we can be more supportive of the struggles of sexual identity, and that it needn’t end in violence.
As a non-profit, under the fiscal sponsorship of Louisville Visual Arts Association, it is my intention to allow this film to be used for educational and historical purposes in classrooms, by organizations, libraries, churches and universities.
Currently, we are conducting an online fundraiser at power2give Louisville. An anonymous sponsor has generously agreed to match all tax-deductable donations dollar-for-dollar. Please donate here: http://www.power2give.org/kentucky/Project/Detail?projectId=5022 Thank you so kindly.
